Ra's al Ghul, literally translated from Arabic as Head of the Demon, is an international, immortal eco-terrorist, and an enemy of Batman. Believing that humanity is a blight on the planet.
Profile[]
Ra's al Ghul is one of oldest and most dangerous enemy. The leader of the League of Shadows. Ra's always belived that humanity needs to be reset, free of the corruption infecting society for last thousand years. He has killed countless in pursuit of this goal.
He is hundreds of years old thanks to supernatural effects of the Lazarus Pit. Ra's is not immortal and has been obsessed with the idea that Batman will replace him as the head of the League.
Biography[]
Before Gotham Knights[]
Ra's al Ghul formed the League of Shadows centuries ago in order to root out corruption all over the world. His ways of achieving this goal include destroying things and rebuilding them from scratch, with that, he destroyed multiple cities. At some point, he had a daughter, Talia al Ghul. He had used the Lazarus Pit to keep himself alive for centuries, but that couldn't make him immortal. Rooting out corruption and protecting the Lazarus Pit became the only things he actually cared about.
Since Gotham City is built on a foundation of corruption, Ra's made the city his new target, but Batman stopped him. Ra's was so impressed by Bruce's skills that he made his heir to lead the league, but Bruce refused. The two became enemies, but Ra's left Gotham alone for a while.
During Gotham Knights[]
With the Court of Owls using extacts from the Lazarus Pit to create the Talons, Ra's went furious. One night, Ra's ambushed Batman in the Batcave. They battled, leaving Bruce badly wounded. As his final act, Bruce destroyed the Batcave and everything contained in it, and both he and Ra's died. Later, Talia incinerated Ra's' body in the GCPD morgue.
