The Joker is the arch-enemy of Batman and ex-boyfriend of Harleen Quinzel.
Biography[]
Before Gotham Knights[]
Little is known about the Joker in the Gotham Knights universe, as only small pieces of information are revealed through e-mails, character interactions and biographies. Barbara Gordon reveals that the incident where Joker shot and paralyzed her, leading to her becoming Oracle, took place prior to the events of Gotham Knights. Harley Quinn's very existence proves she has met Joker, although they seem to have separated by the time the Knights meet her at Blackgate Penitentiary. Jason Todd is also very open about what Joker has done to him in the past.
It is unknown what happened to Joker prior to the events of the game that caused him to make no appearances at all. It could be that Joker lost his will to commit crimes without his archnemesis there to stop him, or he is dead. He is notably absent from Blackgate, the only known prison still functioning in Gotham City, implying that he is not incarcerated at the moment.
